1950 Bmw R51/2

Very rare, one year model, and the first twin built by BMW after WWII. Let me start by saying this bike is in exceptional running and riding condition, and I would not hesitate to hop on it, start it in one or two kicks as it always does, and ride it anywhere. I have owned it for about 13 years, and a full mechanical and partial cosmetic restoration was completed 8 years ago. I have put 1900 trouble free miles on since then, and it is ready for many more. The engine, geabox, and rear end were completely refurbished; the bike was still on the stock bore after over 50 years (!) and still within tolerance, but I chose to bore it to first over and install new pistons. The frame and sheet metal had the very nice finish which is still on it and were just buffed and polished. Some smaller items were refinished, all hardware plated, and every bearing and seal replaced. Exhaust system, correct 3.5mm spokes (now impossible to find), and all rubber was replaced with new. The battery is a dry cell housed in a custom made shell with the original top cover to look correct, but without the risk of any acid spillage. A rear brake light switch was added to look like a factory item, and not like an add-on as many do. Mileage on speedo is not original.........If you have any questions, please text me at ([removed phone]
