16' Aluminum Runabout Duck Hunter! (Tigard in Portland, OR

$2,000 16' Aluminum Runabout Duck Hunter! (Tigard)

1969 sixteen feet Aluminum Mirror Craft with a 55HP Evinrude motor. My buddies grandparents bought this boat new in 69 and he learned how to water ski behind it... He went on to compete in water ski tournaments professionally. However he is also a duck hunter and decided to turn it into a hunting boat..... but trust me, you could still pull a slalom skiier through the pylons with this bad boy today! It's not pretty to look at necessarily, but I was more concerned with functionality. So when I bought it a year ago, I focused my efforts on that. It had sat awhile, so I put a brand new electronic "brain" in it, all new push-pull steering (replacing the cable and pulley steering), and brand new wiring harness and had all 3 carburators pulled and completely rebuilt.... At a total cost of over $1000.00. I have taken it out on the lake several times since all of the work and it had no problem hitting 25-30mph with 2 adults in fairly choppy water..... this boat likes to run. The lower unit is obviously also in terrific shape as it smoothly shifts and runs great in reverse as well as forward. The top looks rough, but that's mainly because he camo'd that too! And even though the clear portion is sun damaged, it and the top are solid (as far as not being rotten or ripped, etc). Likewise, the trailer looks old and suspect, but i have towed it a ton (from Spokane, WA to Tigard originally) and you don't even know it's behind you and the bearings hardly get warm. Is it perfect? no... Could it use a little more cometic love (like carpet, etc)? sure. Would it be smart to re-route the wiring, etc? yeah. All things that I was getting ready to do next (and things that most guys, even if not mechanically inclined, can do easily). If I did not need the money, I would be busy doing just that, but you get the benefit of having everything mechanical, steering and sea-worthiness done for you and trust me, that's where the money gets spent. Oh, did I mention that it has a "remote" anchor system? You can see the anchor mount on the bow... the rope runs through and on pulleys to a hand crank locking spool inside the boat along the gunnel..... I don't duck hunt, but that was very handy when my buddy hunted in lakes and ponds, etc. If you want to check it out, hear the motor run or have any questions, call or text me at [removed phone]Listing originally posted at http
