Interim Accounting Manager - Non Profit in Portland, OR

This is a temporary position that will be until June 30, 2013 and will report directly in the Director of Finance. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee all aspects of monthly accounting cycle including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and cash receipts. Manage government and restricted funds including tracking, invoicing and reporting. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive reports and financial data required for internal analysis and external audits. Review all accounting info and data to ensure accuracy. Ensure the compliance of all accounting principles, policies, procedures and applicable laws are maintained. Cross train to effectively provide support for all functions of the department. Additional assignments and job functions as needed and required. Must have proven computer skills in accounting principles, methods and standards and be able to accomplish financial task independently. three years of non-profit accounting background with at least two years in government funding and contracts preferred. 2yrs of managerial experience in an accounting environment. Must have excellent report writing and analysis skills. Must have excellent computer skills to include Microsoft excel, Ms word and data entry. Background using Blackbaud accounting system a plus. Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting critical deadlines. Must be detail oriented with a high-level of accuracy. Expertise to effectively build professional working relationships with executive leadership, management, employees and others.
